We are now looking for a flexible and dynamic Process Technician to join our Statoil Mariner project for the hook up and commissioning phase of the project. You will be working within a new team that is currently being created. The Mariner platform is currently being constructed in South Korea and will be installed East of Shetland in 2017.

This is an exciting role that will present many challenges whilst working the very latest technology.

The role will initially be office based in Aberdeen, prior to going offshore in 2017. These roles shall commence in the very near future and therefore availability alongside the right candidates are key drivers in our search.

Aberdeen Phase:

  • During this period successful candidates will carry out pre mobilisation training. The start date, duration and rotation associated with this training is currently under review for this position and will be discussed during the interview process.

Offshore HUC Phase:

  • This period will be covered by a 3:3 Rota with no additional holidays

Responsibilities and Tasks:

The Process Technician is responsible for carrying out work scopes assigned, safely, on time, in budget and ensure the technical integrity of the installation. Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

Operational support to project (within own discipline and competency):

  • Strong personality and feels comfortable managing the Control of Work for large Hook Up and Commissioning Teams with multiple work scopes in their area of responsibility

  • Ensure that all operational requirements are followed and understood by all parties (Statoil and contractors)
  • Provide Operational input and experience to the Project team
  • Coordinating the implementation of plant preparation for Hook Up/Commissioning and Maintenance activities as per operational procedures
  • Assist with ensuring a safe system of work for all activities in process areas through the Safe Work system
  • Perform Safe Work/Control of Work related roles as defined in Statoil procedures
  • Assist and work with specialised vendors who visit the platform, ensure that all tasks are completed correctly and safely
  • Implement the isolation/de-isolation, leak testing and safe return to service of plant
  • Raising of accurate notifications and work orders, including close out with adequate and accurate history
  • Carry out first line maintenance (eg. replacement of gauges, equalising DP cells, replacement of valve handles, greasing etc.)
  • Conduct assigned preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Participate in the investigation and reporting of accidents & incidents and provide corrective actions as appropriate
  • Complete handover and commissioning of process and utility systems offshore as required.
  • Ensure preservation process is performed correctly
  • Ensure essential maintenance is carried out during post commissioning and handover of plant and equipment
  • Actively support plant and equipment specific training
  • Carry out on the job technical and safety training and Supervise vendors working under their supervision

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • An Engineering HNC/ONC (preferable but not essential)
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant UK Regulations related to Offshore Operations
  • CRO Controlling Emergencies certified (preferable but not essential)
  • All applicants must be open to change to support the Mariner Project during all phases
  • Extensive operational experience including CRO competencies
  • Core Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical trade advantageous
  • Emergency Response “Chester Step”, or equivalent, fitness certification advantageous
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office tools i.e. Outlook / Excel / Word
  • SAP Maintenance Management System experience
  • BOSIET
  • MIST
  • CA EBS
  • Working at Height Awareness
  • Fire Team Member, including Chester Step fitness assessment
  • Approved Muster Checker

  • Flexibility in your approach to work and to assist in getting Mariner ready for operations. This will mean working initially onshore in Aberdeen before joining the topsides offshore for the hook up and commissioning phase
