Aker Solutions’ Tax team based in Aberdeen is responsible for delivering tax compliance and advisory services to the local businesses. The team forms part of a wider compliance function within the Groups CFO area. We are now looking fora highly skilled tax professionalwho can strengthen our team.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

The Tax Manager is responsible for maintain compliance with UK tax rules. Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all tax compliance in the UK

  • Responsible for preparation of corporation tax and deferred tax computations for statutory reporting purposes for including calculation of tax provisions for inclusion in the financial statements providing procedural and practical advice to relevant teams

  • Review of quarterly tax calculations, and make recommendations based on review

  • Preparation of group tax positions summary and ensuring timely settlement

  • Responsible for transfer pricing reports and review of intercompany pricing documentation

  • Preparation and reporting of employee related tax reporting to HMRC including but not limited to share scheme reporting, employment intermediary reporting, P11Ds, PAYE Settlement

  • Monitoring and reporting on permanent establishment triggers and risks in particular movement of service engineers, understanding the country requirements

  • Ensuring host country tax compliance for globally mobile employees

  • Assisting with HMRC queries and audits

  • Ad hoc tax support

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification and/or Tax Qualification

  • Must possess good skills in accounting, finance, financial reporting and tax

  • Quantitative and analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Detail minded and accurate

  • Commitment in meeting deadlines

  • Ability to assess and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience in general accounting principles including IFRS and tax accounting principles

  • Sound financial and accounting expertise and experience from large or complex or multinational company
