Aker Solutions' Shetland Gas Plant Global Maintenance and Operations Contract Team based in Dyce, Aberdeen are responsible for delivering Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Services to our Client, Total E&P. We require experienced personnel who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Oil & Gas market. We are currently seeking an Instrument Supervisor to support ongoing activities at the site.

At the request of the client, we are only able to consider candidates who reside locally in Shetland at this time.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage and supervise the maintenance work of all SGP personnel with core Instrument skills, ensuring resources in place to allow work to be executed as per plan

  • Carry out maintenance activities relevant to discipline (Carry out initial investigation for breakdowns/fault finding and ensure on the job presence during major work scopes)

  • Prepare work permits and routine work instructions (ISSOW)

  • Ensure all work defined by the 2 weekly plan is executed and reported within SAP

  • Recommend changes to instrument procedures and work instructions systems

  • Carry out on the job technical and safety training of Instrument Technicians

  • Report to and deputise for the GMOC Team Leader on site

  • Maintain effective communication with work groups, conduct work group briefings and maintain effective working relations

  • Assess competence of instrument personnel as per set competence plans

  • Any other duties as required

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • Trade Apprenticeship or City and Guilds in a relevant discipline/trade

  • Minimum HNC in relevant discipline/trade

  • SBT01 minimum

  • Competent in the use of P&ID’s

  • Competent in the use of Electrical and Instrument Loop Drawings

  • Previous experience within offshore of hydrocarbon processing operations

  • Previous experience within a Supervisory position
