Aker Solutions' structures engineering based in Port Klang Free Zone is responsible for manifolds and subsea structures deliverable in the product delivery centre. We need talented and experienced individual who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Asia Pacific market. We are looking for Subsea Design Engineer.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Take full responsibility for all design layout on manifold and subsea structures in accordance to client P&ID, field layout, specifications and relevant standards

  • Capable of establishing 3D models (Solidworks) to populate detail functional requirements (valves, choke modules, control modules, piping, tubing, pressure and temperature sensor) required by client in manifold and subsea structures

  • Responsible to ensure proper cable tray assemblies in 3D model for all control cables with parking position and ROV panel

  • Capable of performing detail structural layout (Solidworks) and lifting configuration arrangement in accordance to structure engineer input

  • Responsible to ensure hatches and protection covers on manifold and subsea structures fulfilled functional requirements of dropped object and fishing activities protection

  • Responsible in performing access check for all running tools, tie-in operations and ROV intervention

  • Capable of performing detail construction drawings (Solidworks) for structures, piping and tubing isometric

  • Responsible to establish material numbers and assist to provide detail MTO to structure and piping engineers during design phase

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • Minimum 6 years relevant working experience in Oil & Gas industry with at least 4 years in subsea

  • Thorough understanding of relevant industry codes and standards

  • Good practical knowledge in manifold and subsea structures design related to piping, instrumentation, controls and structural discipline

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Experienced in offshore installation and basic ROV functionality

  • Be independent, flexible and able to adjust to different work assignments and demands

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility in managing own tasks coupled with ability to work under pressure

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to perform as a team member

  • Be able to converse and written in Mandarin is an added advantage
