Aker Solutions' structures engineering based in Port Klang Free Zone is responsible for manifolds and subsea structures deliverable in the product delivery centre. We need talented and experienced individual who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Asia Pacific market. We are looking for Subsea Structures Engineer.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Take full responsibility for all design scenarios on manifold and subsea structures including making design brief in accordance with contracts, relevant standards and company procedures

  • Capable of establishing computational models for global and detail analysis (STAAD.Pro, SACS and Abaqus) for all details in manifold and subsea structures

  • Capable of performing fundamental geotechnical analysis and establishing the foundation system to be used prior to interfacing with 3rd party

  • Capable of performing manual calculations on welds, stiffeners, joints, seafastening, auxiliary component on all subsea structures (pipe supports, securing hatches and protection covers)

  • Provide detail MTO for all materials needed and follow up with Supply Chain during procurement phase

  • Follow up with design team to ensure all design inputs are aligned with calculations performed and structural steel specifications

  • Responsible for procedures on all structures deliverable including FAT, EFAT, outline (load-out, seafastening, installation, maintenance and operation)

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • Minimum 4 years relevant working experience in Oil & Gas industry with at least 3 years in subsea

  • Thorough understanding of relevant industry codes and standards

  • Good analytical skills (manual, computational calculations and FEA) toward developing and driving technical solutions

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Exposure in offshore transportation and installation

  • Be independent, flexible and able to adjust to different work assignments and demands

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility in managing own tasks coupled with ability to work under pressure

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to perform as a team member

  • Be able to converse and written in Mandarin is an added advantage
