Changes in Brazil

Aker Solutions’ drilling business has a new key accounts manager in Brazil. Kristian Mydland, who formerly worked as a senior control system engineer, has taken over the role from Bodvar Christenson and will be based in Brazil for at least the next year.

Mydland’s new role will include close cooperation with Seadrill and other clients in the Rio de Janeiro area and his responsibilities include overall customer relationship responsibility in the region. He will work to define customer needs and ensure internal response from Aker Solutions. He will be responsible for monitoring customer rig performance in the region and initiate corrective actions to improve operational excellence. A part of Kristian’s role will also be to promote our lifecycle service responsibilities within the region; where he is a regional consultant for all business streams within our global DLS™ business.

The key account function is a supplement to the already existing DLS organisation in Brazil, and they work in close co-operation.

Mydland said he “received a good handover from Christenson before he left and he is really excited about the new challenges that lie ahead of him.”

As Myland will be based in Brazil for at least one year, his wife has also moved over to stay there with him for the duration of his stay.
