Terje Vedeler was appointed vice president (VP) for Aker Solutions’ DLS business in drilling risers on 1 March 2011. Mr Vedeler joins Aker Solutions from his position as business development manager for FMC Technologies.
Vedeler previously worked together with Tom Munkejord in FMC so when Tom called for a meeting Vedeler was very interested in hearing him out.
“After discussing the challenges and opportunities involved in the new role as VP for DLS I had to give this a go. With my 10 years of experience within the service segment this was a challenge I couldn’t let go. I am very happy to be part of an organisation with so much growth opportunity and I am looking forward to contributing my expertise to increase grow within the business,” says Vedeler.
It has been an interesting few months for Vedeler, he has spent time digging into his new role and deciding how to proceed with the business. He sees enormous opportunity within global DLS. By creating an efficient and global way to work, we shall capitalise on our installed base of riser systems.
“There are obviously challenges involved with any new role, but I am looking forward to getting stuck into it,” says Vedeler.
