From FEED to EPma
We provide our services as a front-end engineering and design (FEED) provider and we have a strong track record from engineering and procurement (EP) deliveries and engineering, procurement and construction management assistance (EPcma) deliveries. Our focus is to support our customers in their field development process, to ensure the success of each project.
We develop optimal field development solutions through a combination of evaluation and screening of relevant products and technologies. Aker Solutions utilises a typical front-end gate process, a staged process where we – in co-operation with the customer – intelligently screen various solutions for different field development scenarios.
Holistic and multi-discipline view
With our in-house expertise on key technologies we are able to provide a holistic view to field development studies – technically as well as commercially. Aker Solutions provides a multi-discipline approach, including the adoption of novel technology. We convert Aker Solutions know-how into optimum field development concepts by extensive use of workshops and value engineering sessions, utilising expertise from our global network.

We are a product-independent consultant operating world-wide, helping our clients avoid the traps of “tunnel-vision”. Aker Solutions offers dedicated value improvement services on projects within our core business. Project execution strategy
Aker Solutions supports the client in its plan for development, operation and decision gate process by developing the best possible business case and concept solution. A special engineering tool, the front-end Project Execution Model (PEM), has been developed in order to increase efficiency and to boost quality of this selection process.
The main features of PEM during front end project execution, include selecting the optimum concept solution; technical/economic optimisation of the selected
concept; best for purpose technology, price and delivery time; manageable execution risk for all parties; establish an agreed and firm design basis; functional requirements frozen and proven fulfilled; develop a sound and consistent basis for ITT and later project execution; access to Aker Solutions’ total knowledge and experience base; and utilise knowledge and experience receding in client’s personnel.
Third party verification
Aker Solutions has several advanced systems and methodologies in order to verify the selection of a specific development concept. This solution can be
applied to smaller projects involving upgrades of existing facilities or larger greenfield developments.
Third party verification can also be applied to facility evaluation and verifications related to operator/license share sales/hand-over.
