Aker Solutions' subsea lifecycle services has invested significantly in a rental tool pool of subsea installation tooling for rental to our clients.
This provides our clients with the option to reduce their CAPEX investments in their field development projects. Rental tooling is especially favourable for small/medium field development projects, as clients are able to maintain the investment per well low, even at marginal fields.
Aker Solutions sees the rental tool pool as an extension to its subsea product and services offering. Consequently the rental option is offered as an integrated part of our tenders. This enables Aker Solutions to optimise the CAPEX/OPEX split in the tender according to our clients’ needs.
The rental tool pool is centrally managed, but service and storage are performed through Aker Solutions’ network of bases worldwide. Hence, services can be offered locally to any client project being performed in Northern Europe, Russia, Africa, the US or Asia Pacific.
The rental tool pool holds a number of tool sets. The key tooling types are: Work over systems, well head tooling, subsea tree tooling, tie-in tooling and ROV tooling. The existing tools make a basis portfolio that with limited modifications can be adapted to most client configurations and needs. Aker Solutions continuously maintains and develops the rental tool pool to reflect Aker Solutions standard subsea equipment portfolio and market needs, in order to assist clients optimising a CAPEX/OPEX split on their projects.
