Aker Solutions' centre of excellence for well service technology, the Well Intervention Academy (WIA) is a state-of-the-art test-and training centre with modern facilities for testing and development of new technologies. It also delivers excellent facilities for training personnel in well intervention-related services.

- 28 m high well intervention rig (skid-able)
- Two wells, 400 m and 40 m deep with completion similar to offshore wells
- Wells can be pressurized and circulated

The centre utilises the latest technology available including remote operation of wireline winches, tractor and logging operations - fully electric winches and other state-of-the-art technologies.
IWCF Pressure Control
Aker Solutions is working for a better understanding of pressure control among the course participants. We believe that even the most experienced can learn something from our new IWCF pressure control courses.
To enhance participants' skills, we emphasize the following in our courses: Experienced instructors, practical training with the simulator, updated and relevant study material. Aker Solutions offers IWCF courses in both rotary drilling and well intervention. Our course locations are Stavanger (Forus), Bergen (Kokstad) and Esbjerg.

The test facilities are excellent for testing and development of well intervention related technology.
Training
The combination of theoretical and practical training has a great HSE advantage; the number of potential work site accidents can be reduced when the operator, through training, gains experience in actual surroundings. We can offer courses within Well Intervention and production process trades. In addition to our standard courses, our customers are welcome to ask for customized course-combinations to suit their needs and thereby give them an optimal training result.
