The nitrogen generator system is designed to provide nitrogen gas for purging and/or blanketing applications. Aker Solutions uses the medal membrane technology to generate nitrogen gas at puritys of up to 99.9 percent.
The process commences with instrument air being fed to the feed air filter sets, this removes particles that can be detrimental to downstream equipment such as heat exchangers and membranes.
Depending on process requirements, the feed air then passes through an air inlet cooler/heater. After this, the air is then fed to the hollow fibre membrane modules where the nitrogen gas is produced.
