The CEC™ has a simple and robust design and consists of circular concentric flow-through chambers for the application of electrostatic forces. These flow-paths are optimised to give the best possible application of electrostatic forces for efficient coalescence.
The complete CEC™ separation system consists of a CEC™ unit followed by a downstream oil/water separator. The downstream oil/water separator requires few internals to achieve increased capacity and enhanced performance.
The advantage of separating coalescence and separation into two different sections is that the CEC™ unit can be retrofitted easily upstream of an existing gravity separator to enhance the performance without much modification to the separation train.
The CEC™ technology is highly suited for use in applications where size, weight and utility consumption are constraints. It is a small lightweight flow-through system that greatly enhances the separation performance of the downstream separation equipment. Implementation of this process will ensure the enhanced oil quality.
