Sand disposal
The last stage in a sand handling system is the disposal of the sand. The sand can be disposed to the sea or other places. The step requires an easy way of transporting the sand from the sand handling system to the disposal area. Aker Solutions provides a bag system for this transportation, called sand bags.

Principle of operation
The sand bags are replaceable porous bulk bags that combine dewatering and transport of the sand. The solid is dried up to 95 wt percent. It is a simple, rugged and inexpensive solution. One bag can handle typically one ton of moist sand. The material of construction of the structure that holds that bag will typically be in carbon steel. The bag itself is placed on hooks on the structure steel and is thus very easy to remove and transport to disposal for emptying.
