In 2001/2003, Aker Solutions provided front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the P-51 and P-52 platforms, including the hull and deck-box design, spesification and design of hull systems, wave tank and wind tunnel test, as well as class approval (DNV).
The P-51 is located at the Marlim Sul field development, at 1255 m water depth, producing 180 000 bopd oil and 7.2 million m3/day gas. It has a displacement of 80.114 tonnes and a topsides area of 7000m2. The platform has 89 flexible risers and 3 steel catenary risers, and is moored with 16 synthetic rope lines.
The P-52 is located at the Roncador field development, at 1800 m water depth, producing 180.000 bopd oil and 9.3 million m3/day gas. It has a displacement of 80.201 tonnes and a topsides area of 7000m2. The platform is designed for 23 flexible risers and 46 steel catenary risers, and is moored with 16 synthetic rope lines.
In 2007, Petrobras selected Aker Solutions’ design for the hull of their new P-56 semi-submersible production platform. This design is a copy of the P-51.
