Aker Solutions on Thomson Reuters List of Top 100 Energy Leaders

Aker Solutions is an energy industry leader that displays resilience, flexibility and superior financial performance despite the low oil price, Thomson Reuters said in its report listing the Top 100 Global Energy Leaders.

These leading companies excelled in areas such as people and social responsibility and used fewer resources than their peers, the report said. They also mitigated risks, such as regional turmoil, more successfully than their peer group, used less resources and outperformed a number of major world stock indices.

"We’re honored to be named in the Top 100 Global Energy Leaders," said Aker Solutions CEO Luis Araujo. "It shows how everyone’s hard work to improve efficiency across the business while upholding our core values is indeed yielding rewards for our company and the industry and communities we serve," he said.

To compile the list, Thomson Reuters’ Energy Practice evaluated eight aspects of an energy company’s performance. These aspects ranged from financial performance, management and investor confidence to risks such as legal, supply chain and operational. The report also scored innovation and environmental and social factors in selecting the top 100 companies.

"They [the top 100] are the energy industry’s decathletes," said Emily Lyons, managing director of Thomson Reuters Energy Practice, in a forward to the report. "They embrace the challenge of outsizing business complexity with the acumen and agility to stay one step ahead of constant change," she added.

In the report, Aker Solutions was also named one of the top 25 companies in the oil services sector.
