Aker Solutions based in St. John’s, NL provides front end studies, engineering, asset integrity management, offshore construction and commissioning, procurement, and project management for upstream oil and gas facilities. We are currently looking for experienced Quality Managers/Advisors for potential opportunities for commissioning and offshore hook-up activities for offshore Newfoundland. Positions will be based in St. John’s, however, individuals will be required to work at construction sites located in Newfoundland and Labrador and internationally.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

The Quality Team will be responsible to provide surveillance, coordination, and support for the QA/QC program in compliance with regulatory, corporate and client requirements. Responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and contribute to the production of defined quality documentation and deliverables in line with the agreed specifications and standards;

  • Review and approve Material Requisitions and Supplier Information Requirement Lists to ensure that all quality requirements are defined;

  • Take part in supplier pre-qualifications, audits, inspections, monitoring and follow-up;

  • Review and approve, where appropriate, quality specific supplier documentation for all engineered, procured and fabricated items (i.e. Inspection and Test Plans, Manufacturer’s Record Books);

  • Review work packs to ensure the correct procedures are included or referenced and the quality control requirements are defined;

  • Schedule and conduct surveillance visits, process reviews, field testing and inspection of work;

  • Work with field supervision and subcontractors to enforce and maintain quality control standards;

  • Record deficiencies and make recommendations to correct non-compliances

  • Identify and raise opportunities for improvement within the project context

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with relevant post-secondary qualifications, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Sound knowledge of quality program elements and their implementation

  • Good working knowledge of regulatory/standards requirements

  • Offshore experience is an asset

  • Must be able to meet offshore fitness requirements and be willing to work offshore during hook-up activities
