Aker Solutions' Ltd manufacturing team based in Aberdeen, manufacture Subsea Control equipment for Subsea Production Systems. We are looking for an Electrical Technician on a contract basis to strengthen our team.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • To assemble, test, repair and/or refurbish electrical equipment within the production department
  • To work to ISO 9001
  • To work to project specific quality plans
  • To work at all times to the Company’s Quality Management System
  • To complete all activities identified within the department work packs
  • Perform assembly and test activities in line with work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures, under direct guidance and supervision
  • Ensure all calibrated equipment used within the build, test process is within calibration date and rated for the work activities
  • Maintain workshop plant and equipment including test equipment, ensure work area is maintained in a safe and tidy manner
  • Play a pro-active role in housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives
  • As necessary, perform other duties, requiring essentially the same level of skill & responsibility, when required

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

    • HNC in Electrical Engineering, City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in electrical discipline, have completed a recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate discipline
    • Demonstrable experience in a similar electrical technical role
    • Specific Training / Specialist Skills / Proficient wiring skills
    • Qualified to IPC standards or have sound knowledge of IPC standards
    • Proven demonstrable ability to fault find
    • Proven demonstrable ability to Wire complex units in a manual assembly environment
    • Proven demonstrable ability to read mechanical assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams
    • Proven demonstrable ability to hand solder electrical / electronic components
    • Demonstrable experience working with Multi-meters and Oscilloscopes etc
    • Must be PC literate in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
