Aker Solutions' Supply Chain Department is based in Port Klang. We need talented/experienced Procurement Experts who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Oil & Gas market. We are looking for Commodity Lead

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage and develop high performing commodity team including performing reviews, training and managing work loads
  • Support tendering activity when necessary
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • All procurements should be done in accordance to process and procedures including adhering to compliance requirements
  • Manage commercial negotiations, and the procurement processes to deliver products and services at competitive cost level and high quality
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications
  • Drive development of HSSE excellence among suppliers.
  • Continuous Improvement efforts within procurement and across the value chain to reduce overall cost,improve quality, shorten lead times, and improve on-time delivery.
  • Manage risk and compliance for the defined commodity or product.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities
  • Use relevant data to support risk based procurement
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials
  • Prepare purchase orders in SAP in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advise of impact of change on purchasing and production activities
  • Attend technical & commercial meetings and update others on issues or concerns, in particular when there is a risk which could prevent the organization meeting customer demands or where there are over capacity concerns
  • Support product change requests and review and communicate the impact on plans

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics or any other science related degree with minimum 7 years of procurement experience from industrial (project) / manufacturing environment
  • Proven capability in negotiating to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Contract management and supplier management experience
  • Strong SAP experience is a success factor
  • Proactive and takes initiatives
  • Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
  • High integrity and trustworthy
