Aker Solutions based in Aberdeen, is responsible for delivering quality service, safely, on time, within budget whilst ensuring the technical integrity of onshore and offshore assets. We actively promote the highest standards of HSEQ and at all times act within the Aker Solutions Just Care procedures. The construction department, consisting of experienced, multi-discipline engineering personnel within one of our ongoing projects is seeking to strengthen the team through the recruitment of an experienced Offshore Construction Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Tasks:•Ensure that all labour (including sub-contractors) under direct responsibility of Aker Solutions, work in a safe manner and pay due respect to the safety of others and the integrity of the installation
•Ensure that all Aker Solutions and sub-contract personnel conform to Aker Solutions safety requirements as documented in Just Rules and participate in Aker or client safety observation programmes
•In conjunction with the Area/system coordinators and in accordance with the project planning priorities, co-ordinate the daily organisation, supervision and execution of the planned workscopes
•Ensuring that the work is being executed in accordance with the project specification, SmartPack method statements, inspection, testing, instructions and procedures
•Ensure that all preparation work is identified and in place to allow all scopes to start as scheduled in the construction plan Ensure that Area/system coordinators , are informed of any delays to preparatory work that would impact or significantly delay the schedule
•Raising applicable Permit to Work (PTW) in order to complete workscope in a controlled and safe manner when required
•Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete workscope in a safe and controlled manner
•Ensure all system and sub system completion certification is completed in accordance with Construction & Commissioning matrix
•Carry out a constructability review of all SmartPacks. Feedback any issues to Field Engineer
•Ensure that all hire plant and equipment has full certification requirements and is controlled cost effectively
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
•Industry recognised engineering apprenticeship - level 2 NVQ, equivalent
•ONC/HNC in an engineering discipline or City and Guilds in a related trade or an NVQ level 3 in a related trade
•SMTD- or working towards it including IOSH Managing Safely
•Ability to safely supervise work activities to completion
•Possess a good understanding of safe working practices and can demonstrate commitment to safe working at all times
•Ability to supervise the performance of teams and to manage efficient use of resources
•Possesses extensive trade and industry knowledge
•Can demonstrate the ability to read, interpret and implement procedures / specifications / drawings / sketches etc
•Can demonstrate the ability to deliver project workscopes to the required/specified project/industry standards on time and within budget
