Aker Solutions’ legal department is a large, leading and global function within the company. We are proud of being one of the strongest, largest and most dynamic inhouse legal departments in Norway. The department consists of 30+ legal counsels and contract managers in Norway and 40+ worldwide. We are now looking for a legal counsel to join our team in Norway. The position is preferably seated in Stavanger, but can also be seated at our offices in Fornebu or Bergen.
What will you be doing?
- Provide legal support across all our business segments;
- Lifecycle: Modification and electrification contracts covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
- New Build: EPCI and FC contracts for oil and gas and renewables projects, including jackets, topsides, floaters/FPSOs and HVDC/HVAC substations.
- New Energies: Wide range of contracts within floating offshore wind, carbon capture utilization and storage, hydrogen plants and aquaculture, in addition to early phase work as consultancy and engineering.
- Power Solutions: EPC and EPCI contracts related to hydropower and contracts for technology development within subsea power systems and products, as well as high pressure connectors and penetrators for the oil and gas-, defense- and space industry.
- Provide legal support to tender activities worldwide, including advising and negotiating on contract terms towards clients, subcontractors and partners and working closely with the tender management team to ensure contracts with best possible outcome.
- Provide legal support to ongoing projects globally, including contract management, safeguarding key contractual and commercial processes, and working closely with the project management to ensure best practices and results.
- Manage claims and dispute resolutions processes.
- Work closely with our legal departments in Malaysia and the United Kingdom and other internal departments such as tax, treasury, supply chain and insurance.
- Provide legal advice to the management teams of Aker Solutions, within a legal, commercial, operational and strategic context.
We think you should have:
- Master of Law degree or equivalent, with strong academic results. Formal qualification as a lawyer is a benefit, but not a requirement. We also welcome applications from candidates with a non-Norwegian legal diploma.
- At least three years’ experience as a legal professional, either in-house, with relevant public offices or with a law firm.
- Relevant experience within new energy services, consultancy, oil and gas and/or construction projects, or experience within IT/software and digitalization, intellectual property or competition law, is an advantage.

- English communication skills are required.
