Aker Solutions based in St. John’s, NL provides front end studies, engineering, asset integrity management, offshore construction and commissioning, procurement, and project management for upstream oil and gas facilities. We are currently looking for experienced Project Planners/Controllers for potential opportunities for commissioning and offshore hook-up activities for offshore Newfoundland. Positions will be based in St. John’s, however, will require individuals to work at construction sites located in Newfoundland and Labrador and internationally.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Project Controls Team will be responsible for cost and schedule oversight and reporting including detailed planning, progress measurement, deliverable achievement, and budget adherence. Responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain various plans, including milestone plans, 12 month, 90 day, turnaround and daily plans, when required;
Monitor and control detailed task schedules, incorporating project changes;
Monitor, analyze and report on project progress;
Identify trends, conflicts, risks and opportunities that will impact execution schedule and deliverables;
Liaise with engineering, procurement, implementation and discipline engineering on all matters related to schedule activities and assist in determining schedule priorities, resource allocation and critical path analysis;
Attend scheduled kick-off and progress meetings.
Prepare specific reports that relate to cost, forecasts, project analysis or performance measures;
Prepare and maintain a cost forecast, plan and estimates for all work including commissioning and construction activities;
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with relevant post-secondary qualifications, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have working knowledge of estimating, planning, schedule, cost, and change management, progress and performance measurement.
Must have strong computer skills and previous experience using integrated project controls database systems
Offshore experience is an asset
