Aker Solutions based in St. John’s, NL provides front end studies, engineering, asset integrity management, offshore construction and commissioning, procurement, and project management for upstream oil and gas facilities. We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Installation/Integration Engineer for potential opportunities related to commissioning and hook-up activities for offshore Newfoundland. This position will be based in St. John’s, however, will require work at construction sites located in Newfoundland and Labrador and internationally.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Installation/Integration Engineer will be responsible for the development and/or review of engineering and construction method solutions in compliance with HSSE and Quality standards with a focus on execution certainty, constructability and cost reduction. Responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate with and understand interfaces within the project team, management, client and contractors to ensure detailed knowledge of installation and integration scope of work;
Ensure that necessary implementation of installation methods are included in all design solutions;
Coordinate with Engineering and Construction teams to prepare optimal installation method drawings;
Ensure all engineering deliverables and project scheduling reflects the chosen installation method/sequence;
Report on status of installation/ integration plan delivery and identify corrective actions related to any potential delays;
Propose innovative solutions to reduce installation/integration related costs and risks;
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with relevant post-secondary qualifications, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience with modular integration and or offshore Hook -Up is required
Must be registered as, or have the ability to register as, a Professional Engineer with PEGNL.
