Aker Solutions based in St. John’s, NL provides front end studies, engineering, asset integrity management, offshore construction and commissioning, procurement, and project management for upstream oil and gas facilities. We are currently looking for an experienced Systems/Facility Engineer for potential opportunities for commissioning and offshore hook-up activities for offshore Newfoundland. This position will be based in St. John’s, however, will require work at construction sites located in Newfoundland and Labrador and internationally.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Systems/Facility Engineer will be responsible for the multidiscipline coordination of the engineering and associated commissioning of assigned systems. Responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Work with the multidiscipline project team to deliver the required systems engineering scope, with a focus on functional, design and constructability requirements;
Plan the implementation of layout limitations in system design and system requirements in layout design;
Facilitate the resolution of conflicting interests between different disciplines and different systems;
Liaise with the systems responsible discipline engineers on a regular basis to proactively identify potential risks to schedule and cost and implement corrective actions as necessary;
Propose innovative solutions to reduce systems related costs and risks;
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with relevant post-secondary qualifications, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience with modular integration and or offshore Hook -Up is required
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer with PEGNL
