Join us in solving global energy challenges for future generations.

Join Entr: Where your ideas and insights create lasting impact

Entr, the dedicated consultancy arm of Aker Solutions, is shaping the future of energy. We don't just adapt to change – we drive it, transforming bold ideas into ground-breaking insights and delivering impactful solutions that shape the energy landscape.

Our expertise spans the entire energy spectrum, from optimizing existing oil and gas assets to pioneering renewable technologies. We deliver expert consultancy services that combine our deep technical mastery with early-phase advisory to shape the future of sustainable energy.

We recognize the vital role of oil and gas in today's energy mix and are committed to improving their sustainability. At the same time, we're advancing renewable and low-carbon solutions, balancing current energy security with our vision for a cleaner future.

To support our journey, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the floater team in Kristiansand.

You will be part of a team that leads innovation in both traditional and renewable energy sectors. Our expertise in hull design for Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessels (FPSO), including the renowned TentechTM FPSO designs, forms the foundation for our expansion into cutting-edge renewable technologies. While we continue to optimize oil and gas solutions with designs like cylindrical spread moored Buoys and Floaters for LNG production, we're simultaneously pioneering sustainable energy systems.

Our work spans from enhancing existing FPSO designs to developing floater solutions for offshore wind, marine mineral production, and aquaculture. This dual focus allows us to drive the energy transition while ensuring current energy needs are met responsibly. By joining our team, you'll contribute to shaping a sustainable energy future while leveraging our deep expertise in traditional energy systems.

What will you be doing?

As a key member of the team, you will:

  • Lead and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a positive culture while driving technical excellence in Hull & Marine projects.
  • Oversee the execution of Hull & Marine scope in studies and projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, technical integrity, and alignment with schedules and budgets.
  • Implement and maintain Project Execution Model (PEM) and Quality Assurance systems, ensuring compliance with HSE policies and technical standards.
  • Stay continuously updated on project status and technical challenges, identifying bottlenecks and proposing innovative solutions across both traditional oil & gas and renewable energy sectors.
  • Coordinate among various engineering disciplines, ensuring clear communication of technical scope and seamless integration of interdisciplinary work
  • Manage resources effectively, updating Man-hour Production Plans (MPP) and identify technical expertise as needed to meet project demands.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of high-quality project documentation within the given Scope of Work and planned schedule.
  • Supervise engineering discipline activities, monitoring progress against technical milestones and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Liaise with other organizational units, representing the team's interests and ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, methodologies, and technical capabilities within the Hull & Marine domain.

We think you should have:

  • A University degree (M.Sc or similar) in a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience within Hull & Marine, with multidisciplinary competence and sound technical knowledge from engineering/front end oil & gas business (preferably FPSO business).
  • Proven track record as an effective leader and decision-maker, with experience in managing people and teams.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to understand complex engineering scopes.
  • Excellent communication skills and teambuilding abilities.
  • Commitment to quality and HSE standards.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, both verbal and written.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for working across both traditional and renewable energy projects.
