About New BuildThe New Build segment is responsible for delivering major energy projects for the oil & gas and renewable markets. The segment includes all phases of a project, and specializes on delivering complete solutions that include engineering, procurement, construction and installation.

What will you be doing?

Job purpose

Design, develop and ensure the efficient deployment of a standard, common data platform (from the ELT from sources, through data preparation and storage, through to visualization and dashboards & applications) enabling Business Intelligence, Analytics and Low-Code solutions for the Renewables segment.

Design, develop, and enforce standards and architecture for all data needs for BI within the segment.

Design specifications and standards for semantic layers and multidimensional models for complete Business Intelligence projects across all environments in the segment.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of solutions for data storage, transformation, sharing and control to support segment wide global and holistic functional BI self-service enablement.
  • Development of scalable, modular and robust ETL routines, using ETL tools and external programming/scripting languages as necessary.
  • Providing procedural and practice advice within ETL process, DWH process and data preparation/storage in general for the analytical community across Aker Solutions globally, - and seek support from senior team members when the nature of the request has the potential for organization wide implications or significant impact on the overall architecture.
  • Take ownership and resolve business enquiries related to BI data needs in order to achieve service standards.
  • Analyze, make recommendations for and ensure the implementation of improvements to the common BI data architecture that will resolve business issues/challenges.

We think you should have:

  • Expert knowledge of relevant technologies and principles for ETL/ELT and DWH.
  • In-depth knowledge of processes, systems in use and associated data.
  • Expert understanding of technology area and will know who/where to go for even deeper knowledge and experience.
  • Solid understanding of a range of products/services used to enable enterprise business intelligence.
  • Ability to see, and have in mind, the bigger picture when delivering on functional or operational data requirements for BI solutions.
  • Good knowledge of Business selected front end tools.
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness
  • Higher education within Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field. Masters is preferred
