The Life Cycle segment takes care of energy assets in a Life Cycle perspective. From the start to end of production, Life Cycle ensure safe operations. We focus on optimizing field life solutions, driven by decarbonization and environmentally sound offerings.

Our department in Trondheim is now looking for a Young Professional Automation Engineer to help us in our mission to #powerthechange.

What will you be doing?

If you are a graduate 2025, you will be a part of Aker Solutions graduate program 2025. This will give you the opportunity to build a professional network, meet fellow graduates from various locations, and visit our headquarters as well as one of our yards.

Join our project teams and contribute to the delivery of world-class projects. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with some of our most experienced and knowledgeable engineers, gaining hands-on experience and expanding your expertise.

  • Work alongside a dedicated team within the SIT & CSNE Mid-Norway department.
  • Learn and apply industry-leading methods and standards as you progress in your role.
  • Tackle a variety of challenging tasks in a fast-paced environment, gaining both automation and multidisciplinary technical knowledge.
  • Develop your expertise in field instrument engineering, electrical equipment, and intelligent electrical devices.
  • Deepen your understanding of control systems, including hardware, I/O circuits/loops, logic, HMI, interface protocols, communication networks, and information security.
  • Learn to use NORSOK Standards and gain knowledge within ATEX/NEK420 requirements.
  • Understand the totality of system functions and operability in industrial facilities.
  • Be part of a committed team that delivers excellence in every project.
  • Gain valuable experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.

  • Comprehensive on the job training will be provided to ensure your growth and success.
  • You will receive guidance from a dedicated mentor to help you develop your skills and navigate your career path.

We think you should have:

  • Student graduating in 2025 or recent years.
  • Area of study relevant to the role you are applying for.

The following personal qualities, skills and interests will be highly appreciated:

  • Interest in following developments in technology and improving work methods
  • Commercial mindset, strong work ethics, courageous, open minded and a proactive attitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiar with use of teams and similar digitalized collaboration tools
  • Good in English - both written and verbally
